This lovely old home has been named in memory of Michaels mother. The calm of her presence can still be felt in the warmth of the atmosphere here. The house has a fully equipped kitchen, two full bathrooms and two veranda's.

In summer the view from the front verandah is of mares and their foals cavorting in the lush rye grass which grows almost up to the front door. The Tugela river is just a short stroll across the garden and the main homestead is just meters away.

You are always welcome to join Mike and Edna for a sundowner in their cute pub or under the towering pines.

The original thatched house was built by the Voortrekkers (Frontiersmen) in 1838 and served as a pony post during the Anglo Boer War.
The old coal stove in the kitchen gives the feeling of a cosy farm cottage.

Five acres of lawn roll down to the river and the assortment of birds and other animals wandering free lend to the charm.

A cosy Pub is the venue for pre and after dinner cocktails - with raconteur Mike regaling many tales. Whilst Percy (Our resident peanut-eating cockatoo) picks out all the raisins from the Peanut and Raisin snack bowl!. On fine evenings we dine Al fresco under the towering pines planted by the Voortrekkers.

On frosty winter nights we either barbecue on the roaring fire in the sitting room or congregate around the old yellowwood table in the kitchen served with wholesome farm food straight from the stove.

We run specials from time to time please call us for details.
